Phoraid products, (Phoraid, Phor-Vet and Sterawash) are iodophors, releasing iodine,  a powerful germicide, in a safe and convenient way.

Phoraid products work by killing the virus in the external environment, on inanimate objects such as surgical instruments,  bedding and toilet seats;  as well as human skin.   The latter application is particularly important given the findings of an American publication on the failure rate of latex gloves.
