Ultrawave Hand Held Ultrasonic ACTIVITY DETECTOR & INDICATOR USPM 200 |

Hand-held Ultrasonic Activity Detector & Indicator USPM 200
The USPM 200 fulfils the need for an up to date method of indicating the ultrasonic activity levels in modern high technology cleaning systems. The old foil erosion test can no longer be used due to the higher frequencies and improved cavitation activity utilised in current Ultrasonic systems.
Ultrawave Ltd has worked closely with British and European Medical testing Laboratories to establish a protocol for disinfection and pre-autoclave cleaning of instruments. The new protocol will much reduce the concerns about crossinfections expressed by Infection Control Officers.
The electronic scrubbing action provided by ultrasonic cavitation, together with warm water dosed with an approved detergent, is the key to the removal of all microscopic contaminants.
It is thus essential that adequate ultrasonic activity is present in all areas of the cleaning fluid and that there are no 'dead' spots. The sub-micron cleanliness level demanded by the medical profession has resulted in the development of higher efficiency ultrasonic cleaning systems. This has proved of enormous benefit to other users in the electrical, electronic, light engineering and jewellery industries etc.
The Ultrasonic Power Meter 200 has been developed to monitor frequency and power levels in an ultrasonic cleaning system. The USPM 200 consists of a stainless steel probe, fitted with an ABS plastic handle and a connecting cable which plugs in to a hand held instrument. This indicates and meters the presence of Ultrasonic activity in a cleaning bath or tank.
The probe has a specially made receptor fitted inside a hermetically sealed endcap. Ultrasonic pulses detected in a fluid are passed to the hand-held instrument where they are analysed and the operating frequency and percentage power levels indicated on twin bar-graph displays.
A version of the USPM 200 system will shortly be available as an integrated system with a 150mm probe fixed to the hand held meter unit. This will be especially of interest for users of smaller ultrasonic baths, or where a one-handed system is required.
A press and hold button combines the on/off mode and function display, making the USPM 200 very simple to use.
